That’s the goal of Sollera’s prevention education team—and it starts earlier than many people realize.

Sollera’s educators work in schools and throughout the community to teach age-appropriate lessons on body autonomy, boundaries, consent, and healthy relationships. These conversations help young people learn they have the right to say no, to trust their instincts, and to respect others’ boundaries as well.

One of Sollera’s most well-known programs, Red Flag Green Flag, is designed for second graders. Using clear, kid-friendly language, the curriculum helps children identify safe versus unsafe behaviors—empowering them with knowledge without fear. These lessons lay a foundation that can protect children long before they’re able to articulate concerns in adult terms.

Prevention education also extends beyond elementary schools. Sollera works with teens, parents, educators, and community groups to talk honestly about unhealthy relationship patterns, warning signs of abuse, and how to support someone who may be experiencing harm.

By normalizing conversations about consent and respect, Sollera’s prevention work helps build safer communities from the ground up. It’s quiet, proactive work—and it’s one of the most powerful tools we have to create long-term change.

In 2025, Sollera’s Prevention Education Team presented nearly 1200 presentations in our community. They visited 69 schools throughout the Fargo-Moorhead region, up 19% from 2024.

What if we could reduce violence not just by responding to it, but by preventing it before it ever occurs?
